My studies

My Studies   I think the studies to become a social worker have started well. I have quickly caught up with my studies. My studies at Open University have definitely helped in that. I have collected more than 60 points! One of them dealt with strength, because strongmanship is interesting. The other studies were well connected to this social worker education. I feel like I can easily get into a flow state. The disadvantage of studying seems to be my private life, my family. I am a masseuse by my most recent education, and I work as a cleaner. I have founded a cleaning company, private trader. Im also a paid employee another cleaning company. Cleaning is a nice, stress-free job! I would hope that through the social worker education, I would open up routes to other interesting educations that I could do as an entrepreneur! I just don't know what that would be yet. The reason why I went to this school was my great interest in psychology. Through this, I hoped to get hol...

Benner´s Theory

Kuva
Benner´s Theory.   Benner's theory is the Beginner to Expert theory developed by Patricia Benner for nursing work in the 1980s.  In it, Benner divides competence into 5 levels. A new level, Mastery, has been added later, but it is not here because it is not part of the original theory. The theory has been used in several studies in the health sector to describe the levels of professional competence and the learning needs that arise at each level. 1. Novice 2. Advanced Beginner 3. Competent 4. Proficient 5. Expert Here is a mind map made of Benner's theory. Youtube. Reflection about cultural communication

The customer is always met as an individual. Talking to customer by customers name and greeting the customer in Finnish. Greeting in Finnish can help increase the feeling of togetherness. After greeting you can ask in which language he wants to continue. If you are unsure about the pronunciation of the name, you can ask the customer directly. Use clear language, speak one thing at a time. Make sure the customer has understood the core issues. Talking about everyday things builds trust. Ask, how's it goin. Remember, person's identity consists of many different things, a person is more than a refugee or an immigrant. You have to be aware that every culture has its own values, ideals and ways of doing things. Consider the influence of your own culture on your actions and attitudes. You can ask the customer directly if you are wondering something. Using an interpreter when necessary is important. The interpretation must be external, from the point of view of the customer...

Professional dialogue

Dialogue, according to David Bohm's book On Dialogue (1990), is a social and psychological activity in which together we try to reach a better understanding. In a dialogic discussion, others are met as equals and as equals, with dignity, respecting different thoughts and interests. Speeches are taken and used equally. Being dialogic helps to meet people from different cultural backgrounds. Being dialogic helps to face different cultures and people from different cultural backgrounds. Dialogical skills are honed by practicing, the more you do it, the better you get at it. Temperament has an effect. A person with an active temperament is naturally involved and takes up space. Withdrawal temperaments are more likely to follow on the sidelines. In a dialogical conversation, the active temperament has to learn to give space to others, and the withdrawn temperament to take space and position. What is essential is a genuine meeting, where thinking and discussing together is successf...

Professonial Encounter

Meeting customers is always an interaction situation, whether you like it or not. Every person has his own history, beliefs, culture, through which he experiences the world. Professionals task is to mirror the client. Body language, gestures and demeanor all send messages. Active listening and getting down to the customer's level and wondering together strengthens trust. Professionals have to speak in the same way as the customer, according to the customer's tempo. Professional gestures tell the customer that he is being listened to. Bad previous experiences of abuse of power affect the customer's relationship with employees. It slows down the creation and building of trust An equal relationship of trust requires reciprocity, respect and compassion. It is important not to rush. The professional must know how and when to give the client a dialogic space. A professional has responsibility and promotes interaction. It was good for a professional to be empathetic. P...
